I'm here to fight for truth, justice, and the American way.-Superman's words to Lois Lane in Superman: The Movie
Superman is a fictional character created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. He's the last son of Krypton. He was born Kal-El, and when his father, Jor-El, realized that his planet was doomed, he and his wife Lara sent Kal-El to Earth, where he would be found by Jonathan and Martha Kent and given the name Clark Kent, but upon growing up and discovering the powers he gained from Earth's yellow sun, he would use his powers for good, and the world would know him, as Superman. In his long existence, he's been portrayed by many actors. In the serials, he would be portrayed by Kirk Alyn. In the Adventures of Superman series, and the movie Superman and the Mole Men, he was portrayed by George Reeves, from 1978-1987 he was portrayed, most notably, by Christopher Reeve. In the semi-reboot, Superman Returns, he is played by Brandon Routh.
