Superman in the Fortress
The Fortress of Solitude is a sercet base of Superman which is situated in the North Pole in the Superman film series. It is described, by Lex Luthor in Superman Returns, as being a monument to a long-dead and powerful civilisation. Its structure simulates that of the buildings and structures on the planet Krypton, composed of crystaline columns, bars and control panels, as well as taking on the traits of it surrounding area. The crystals, when placed in the control panel give Superman access to the knowledge of the 28 known galaxies as well as allowing him to establish contact with the "will" of his biological father Jor-El.
