Superman was born Kal-El, and when his father, Jor-El, realized that his planet was doomed, he and his wife Lara sent Kal-El to Earth, where he was taken by the Government.
Biography[]
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox[]
Kal-El's Ship cruised straight over Smallville and instead crashed in Metropolis creating a gigantic crater. Kal-El himself was taken away by the government.
30 years later, Kal-El was kept in containment under a simulated red sun. Flash and Batman, with the help of Cyborg, infiltrated Kal-El's holding cell and helped him to freedom, bringing him to sunlight. Superman enjoyed the sun until the group were under attack from the government. Superman caught a missile aimed at Cyborg then levitated, unleashing his heat vision after being shot at. His heat vision incinerated the military. Seeing the horror of what he had done, Superman flew away ashamedly.
Superman stopped Aquaman from killing Cyborg by cutting off his arm with heat vision then blew him away with super breath. Superman turned to his friend who then died.
