Batman is the defender of Gotham City. When Bruce Wayne was eight years old, he saw his parents were murdered infront of him. He spent seven years of his adult life in trainning in various forms of martial arts, and his detective skills. When he returned, he was inspired by a bat in his ancestral home of Wayne Manor. He became The Batman. He has been portrayed by Lewis Wilson in Batman (1943 Movie), Robert Lowery in Batman and Robin (1949 Movie), Adam West in the 1966 Batman TV series and Batman (1966 Movie), Michael Keaton in Batman (1989 Movie) and Batman Returns, Val Kilmer in Batman Forever, George Clooney in Batman & Robin, and Christian Bale in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
